Good evening and welcome back to another post from ToBeSecured everyone. We're almost halfway through February and this week! On yesterday's episode of Cyber Tuesdays, I wanted to address the issue with Apple slowing down older iphones in hopes of users upgrading to the new released phones. Also, the government and police has been using reverse search warrants as a tactic to solve crimes, have access to user data, and track the behavior or patterns of users. If you haven't already, go and tune in, comment, like, and share to your friends/family members.
Today will be a bit different as it relates to the length of my post and how I address this topic. But, here goes. Within the past couple of weeks, I've witness multiple users of Instagram post and admit their Instagram page was hacked. What's the deal? I know exactly what it is. Y'all are too vulnerable and naive. That's the straightforward and most truthful answer. If your Instagram page isn't private, you need to change that like yesterday. If your password is your name, pet name, school name, or anything else that is easy to guess, you need to change that like yesterday. If you receive a DM with a link and attached is an imperative statement such as "Click here to see...", don't open it. Delete it! If it comes from someone you know, let them know their page has been hacked and they need to change their password and report it! I cannot ensure that you won't ever be hacked, but if you consider these tips and remember them, it'll keep you from creating a new page and going through the hassle of re-following folks.
If you've been or know anyone who has been hacked, let me know and I'll be more than glad to help. A person that follows me has fallen victim to a hacking incident and I received a link earlier today, inspiring me to write today's post. Have you seen the same on your TL?
